How often you want to be asked
The recall probability a review is scheduled for, what Anki calls desired retention. Palimpsest has always used 0.90, which is also Anki's default. If a deck's Anki preset was tuned away from that, every interval here will disagree with Anki until this matches it. Higher means shorter gaps and more reviews.
Learning steps
The short ladder a card walks before it earns a real interval, written the way Anki writes it. "1m 10m" means a new card answered again comes back in a minute, good in ten, and good once more hands it to the scheduler — which is why a new card in Anki takes three answers to leave the ladder, not two. The second box is the ladder for a card you have just failed. A deck can override both in its own settings, and a deck imported from Anki starts with whatever its preset there said.
