Mix-up match

Six words, six meanings. Drag each word onto its meaning. Both words of a pair you confuse are always on the same screen, so the wrong answer is the one you would actually reach for.

Sentence choice

A real sentence with the word blanked out, and the two words you mix up as the only options. Sentences come from what you have read in Palimpsest, then Wikipedia and the news feed, each cited with a link.

Sense recall

Words with several meanings on the card. Flip and check which you knew, or type up to three meanings; a near-synonym earns "almost". Now and then a word you already know well comes up the other way round: meaning shown, you type the word.

Cognate sort

Words from your decks that look like an English word. Sort each into "means what it looks like" or "false friend".
